Advantages: Good when on offer, quite low calorie, pleasent taste.

Disadvantages: Quite expensive when not on offer, watery, high in sugar.

I didn't know what I fancied so I took a peek in the treat cupboard, but on seeing the chocolate, my tummy churned and I realised I wasn't overly hungry. So I picked up an apple, and headed back for the sofa. However just as I was about to leave the kitchen, I remembered something my mum had picked up on offer in Sainsburys that afternoon.
I plonked the apple back into the fruit bowl and darted over to the fridge.

I pulled out a 4 pack of yogurts. These particular yogurts were, _NESTLE Ski Activ8 Variety Fruit burst Yogurts._.
My mum had picked these up in the reduced section as they were due to be used in the next three days. In the reduced section, they had cost 79p. We thought this was a bargain as normally, these cost £1.49. However these are on offer now, for 2 pots for £2. We had never tried these before and so decided to play it safe and only purchase one pack.

The four yogurts were joined together by there plastic tubs, much like any other yogurts that come in a pack. Unlike some other yogurts though, these are then held together in a cardboard sleeve. Which can easily be slid off. The cardboard sleeve matches the pots. They are mainly blue in colour, with a darker blue strip down the side of the pot, stating "VARIETY".
The Nestle logo is in the top left hand corner of the side of the sleeve, and underneath, SKI is written in large white writing, the dot of the 'i' being red. Underneath the brand name, there are pictures of the fruits which make the flavours of the yogurts. This being, a raspberry, a strawberry, a peach and an apricot. Next to the pictures, the sleeve clearly tells us the flavours of the yogurt.
Each pot is 120g, a nice size yogurt, and there is one of each flavour in every pack.

The cardboard sleeve also tells us the nutrition values.
It tells us that each 120g pot contains 111 calories, and 2g of fat, in which 1.2 is saturated fat (the bad fat!). Taking a glance at the sugar content, it is un-surprisngly high, each pot contains 17.6g, however I amn't surprised at this, because most yogurts these days are high in sugars. Next to the nutritional information, it also tells us each yogurt is blended with 8 different vitamins.
We are also told, these (obviously) contain milk, so are unsuitable for those with milk alergies, the lactose intolerent and some vegetarians, though most of this is plain common sense!
One thing I did notice when reading the ingrediants, is that the yogurts contain real sugar, no nasty sweetners such as Aspartame.

Over the next 3 days (yes, I ate them when they were out of date, but they were fine, and I am still alive to this day), I consumed all of the 4 yogurts, I think my family forgot about them. I am not a fan of strawberry yogurt, so I thought I'd sample this one first to get it out of the way.

The STRAWBERRY yogurt was just like any other yogurt. When I peeled back the foil lid, I was faced with a watery looking pale pink yogurt, with tiny strands of red strawberry. I took my teaspoon and gave the yogurt a firm mix. After I'd mixed the yogurt was definitly not as watery, however it was a pretty sloppy looking mess. I dunked in teaspoon and shovelled a spoonful into my mouth. I can't say I was thrilled with this flavour. It just tasted as any other strawberry yogurt does, and it did taste rather artificial. I'm not a fan of "bitty" yogurts, however I was pleased with this one that I couldnt detect the strands once in my mouth. This was probably my least favourite out of the whole packet.

The next yogurt I tried, was poured over a bowl of fruit salad. This was the APRICOT. Now I can never tell the difference between the apricot and peach yogurts, and this experience was no different. I'm a bit weird, me, I always have to try everything individually before I mix foods, so before I poured it over my fruit, I took a spoonful of yogurt on its own. Before this however, I did give it a good mix, because again it look rather watery. This yogurt was a bit thicker than the strawberry and tasted creamier too. The taste was as I had expected, it tasted very like the Apricot Muller Lights. It was almost white in colour with a slight yellow/orange tinge to it, and the bits of apricot were surprisingly smooth- much to my indulgance. Once slopped over my fruit the yogurt stayed strong in flavour and was not lost among the fruit.

PEACH was the next flavour I tried. I ate this one on its own. When I peeled back the lid, I was shown a light yellow yogurt. The peach flavour was slightly darker in colour to the apricot, however the bits inside looked the same. I scooped a spoonful into my mouth, and I was in heaven. The taste was creamy and smooth, and not watery in the slightest. I was expecting the raspberry to be my favourite, however I was very surprised when I enjoyed the peach one the most.

I tried the RASPBERRY the day after these yogurts went out of date, but I hardly noticed. Although, when I did open up the yogurt, it had a watery layer on top, but after a good mix it turned into a creamy looking yogurt, but by no means thick. The yogurt was slightly darker than the strawberry, more of a red-pink, rather than light pink. There didn't seem to be any bits in this one, however when I took a mouthful, the texture was "bumpy" and this is when I realised it was too good to be true. The flavour of the raspberry was quite sour, however a lot more enjoyable than the strawberry. Although sour, there was a slight tangy sweetness to it too, which added to the pleasure!!

Overall, I think the peach yogurt comes out tops, with raspberry a close second, then apricot, then strawberry coming in last place. I didn't enjoy these ski as much as I do Muller, and I think I'll stick to Muller. However if we do come across these agian in the reduced section for as little as 79p i'm sure i'll be tempted to throw them into our trolley. (Well I wouldn't throw them- I wouldn't want them to burst).

5 Sense Summary
*Sound- n/a
*Texture- Smooth & small bits
*Sight- Watery looking yogurt with small bits
*Smell- No recognizable smell, just fruity yogurt
*Taste- Creamy, sweet, sour, bits ever so slightly detectable.
