Advantages: nice taste, do melt
Disadvantages: bit of an aftertaste when finished eating.
'They physicaly melt and then they disappear!'
I don't know if you remember that line which appeared in the KP advert. I think it's the first thing that pops into my head when I see a packet of skips with their trademark yellow colour and bright pink lettering.
It has remained the same after all these years but sadly, although the foil makes them 'fresher', they still make a racket when you're trying to eat them without anybody else noticing.
They have reduced the amount of saturated fat but unlike other products which are always announcing that they've taken away loads of salt, added extras etc they still taste just as nice as they did way back when.
Skips aren't your typical crisp as they don't provide the right kind of crunch when you eat them. Because they have a slightly softer texture it's pointless putting more in your mouth because it won't change a thing.
The great thing about them is that they do actually melt on your toungue! Making a slight fizz and then disintergrating.
This however does leave with you a tiny bit of mush in your mouth but it's barely noticable. They have a nice prawn and cocktail style flavour although this doesn't last for very long.
It's true to say that you do get a bit of an aftertaste once you're eaten the packet.
The actual shape of the skip is slightly domed, almost like a tiny basket which makes it sit and fit nicely on your tongue!
I've been buying these for years and I've never tired of them. For a cheap price of approximately 30p they are well worth the money and are a great choice for younger children as well. I know that when I was a kid I thought they were great fun!
(Having fun by eating a crisp-what a childhood!)
