Advantages: DELICIOUS!

Disadvantages: VERY MOREISH...

Wandering around my local Farmfoods frozen food store the other day, I was eyeing the multi-packs of crisps with very little interest. Nothing was really 'jumping out' at me from the shelves and I picked up several multi-packs and inspected them before replacing them back on the shelf.

Keen to make a purchase of some kind due to the lack of crisps in our house, and due to my fiancé's need for snacks such as crisps during his working day, I eventually settled on a multi-pack of KP Skips and headed for home.

This purchase turned out to be a very successful one, and the multi-pack is all but gone in a matter of a few days! I think the success rate is down to my partner and I being treated to a little 'trip down memory lane' courtesy of these snacks!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with KP Skips, they are a crisp-type snack, with a prawn cocktail flavouring. Shaped like a little flower or something similar, they are light and crispy without being overly-greasy or too 'filling'.

What I found is that the prawn cocktail flavouring provides a kind of 'tingling' sensation on my tongue when eating these. They are not overly-fishy tasting but instead are very moreish and quite salty. I do also find that these are quite tangy and all in all they are thoroughly enjoyable.

The texture of these crisps is a very light and fluffy one. They are also quite crispy but are in no way hard or brittle. I think that these might not appeal to anybody who prefers crisps or snacks with more 'bite' to them, but for me I find that the light texture of these makes them an all-round winner!

They are a little whiffy, due to the 'fishy' taste and smell but not overly so. My main trouble when eating these snacks is trying to restrict myself to having only one bag! I find that I can quite easily devour two bags in one sitting.

The nutritional information on the back of the bag informs me that the KP skips will provide me with 524 calories and 29.5g of fat per 100g. I can also see that these crisps are suitable for vegetarians, despite their fishy flavour!

The front of the bag details a 'Skips Promise' which is apparently that skips contain "no artificial colours of flavours" along with "less than 100 calories per pack" and finally "no MSG". Surprising then, that these tasty snacks may well offer a 'healthier option' than some other snacks or regular crisps!

The multi-pack of these crisps contained nine individual packets, as this seems to have been a promotional pack with 9 bags contained within it, for the price of 6. The multi-pack cost me £1, although I do think these snacks are more expensive in other stores, and this low cost was due to my 'discount store' (Farmfoods) of choice!

I would award these little snacks full marks - I cannot fault them at all and I would thoroughly recommend them if you haven't tried them before. A five star snack!

Summary: A FISHY AND FIZZY SNACK!
