Advantages: Unique crisps with a distinctive taste.
Disadvantages: None
I am not a big fan of crisps but when I do eat them, Skips are up there with my favourites. They are something I have not eaten in a while until recently when I saw them on offer in the supermarket and they are still as tasty as ever.
The two things I like best about Skips is that they are unlike any other crisps available, they are unique with a distinctive taste. Also they are healthier than 'normal' crisps.
Skips come in a yellow bag with red writing on, you can buy them as a single pack but I buy them in multipacks. They cost about £1.25 for a six pack and £2 for a ten pack. This is from Tesco.
They are described as the fizzy, melty snack which I find to be a perfect description. They literally melt in your mouth and put them on your tongue and the crisps will fizz. I don't think any other crisps do this. They also look different to other crips and are a funny shape.
The flavour of the crisps is Prawn Cocktail, which is one of my favourite flavours anyway. I think you might be able to get them in other flavours but when it comes to Skips, Prawn Cocktail is the only flavour that works.
On the packet it tells you that there is no artificial colours or flavours, no MSG and that they are now made with 100% sunflower oil so they contain 50% less saturated fat. As far as crisps go they are an healthy option.
Each bag contains only 89 calories and 5.0g of fat, so you can treat yourself to a bag and not worry about the waistline.
The unique tasting, melt on your tongue crisps are one of my firm favourites and on the few occassions I allow my children to have crisps they are also what I choose to give them. Perfect for all the family.
Summary: 5 star crisps.
