Disadvantages: Not many in a bag and not much flavour
KP Skips
One of my favourite if not my favourite snack foods are crisps. I love nothing more to tuck into a bag of crisps and up there amongst the best are KP skips. The most common flavour for these is prawn and cocktail but they also come in other flavours such as bacon and cheese and pickled onion although these are not widely available.
Price
Skips are widely available in all good supermarkets. Currently in my local supermarket you can buy a ten pack for £2.00. They are also available in the single format in many shops.
My opinion
Back in 2006 KP skips changed their flavour so that they were healthier. They reduced the saturated fat by 30 % and the sodium content by 10%. Whilst I should probably welcome the health benefits, I have ultimately been left very disappointed by the change in flavour. The new healthier version taste almost flavourless and not to be disrespectful but they almost remind me a bit of communion.
The skips themselves look a bit like sea shells and are slightly pink in colour. I have in the past easily managed to fit a whole bags contents in my mouth in one go because the crisps can be easily compressed. The flavour nowadays is quite poor but back in their heyday these were one of the tastiest crisps. I have tried the own brand from Tesco and whilst they are a little harder than the KP variety they are much more flavoursome. So overall in my opinion I would now avoid these and buy the Tesco own brand variety.
Summary: Dont expect these to be around for ever unless they improve
