Advantages: Lower calories than other crisps
Disadvantages: Taste too strong and artificial
KP Skips
Description: Prawn cocktail corn snacks.
KP Skips only have 90 calories per bag, so if you are looking for a lighter alternative to crisps then these might be worth trying. It is ages (years probably) since I have eaten these, I use to like them as a kid but then went off them a bit.
A pack of these cost me £0.50 from the vending machine at work, it is appalling though so you can probably find them cheaper elsewhere. You can also buy them in multi packs which work out cheaper.
They come in a bright yellow packet which says "Skips" in bright red letters on the front.
These are little flat shapes (sort of the size of a ten pence piece) which melt as soon as you put them on your tongue. The texture is definitely the best bit, they melt in a way that no other crisps do and it is quite delicious.
Unfortunately, the taste doesn't really live up to the hype. I find them quite strong and artificial, I am not sure if they have changed since I was young, or if it is just that I am more aware of it, but they have that prawn cocktail crisp flavour, which coats each snack in a kind of powder. This is too thick in my opinion, which is what makes them taste too strong. The powder is also a yellowy and pink colour which doesn't look very natural.
In summary, I won't be buying these again, they have a great texture but a somewhat nasty taste. Having said that, if you are a fan of that prawn cocktail crisp flavour, then you may love these!
Summary: I wouldn't buy these again
