Advantages: Taste yummy

Disadvantages: Not so good for the teeth

Skittles ... what can I say? I simply love them!

I am actually addicted. If I don't have any in my house to pick at while I'm watching the TV, I will almost cry. Literally.

I used to eat skittles occasionally when I was younger but I don't remember having any for quite a few years until last year when the addiction started. It was when I was backpacking in Australia. I first bought a big packet when we stopped off at a highway shop on a long and boring coach ride from one destination to the next just to keep my taste buds happy. I gradually found myself buying more and more packets until I ended up buying them for each coach journey no matter how long or short it was.

Coming home was no deterrent from my Skittle addiction and now I find myself buying packets all the time for me to nibble on either at home while relaxing or on a trip to the cinema.

The large packets (195g) have a tearing section across the top that you can easily rip off. There is a rectangular sticker on the back of the pack which you can use to hold the top of the pack in place if you fold it over, to stop them all falling out. At the moment the top part that you pull off has a 2 for 1 cinema offer on it if you collect 8 of them.

Each small round sweet is made with fruit juice and had a soft centre and a crispier sugary shell with the trade mark S coated in white on each one. The colourful sweets include lots of fruity flavours including strawberry (red), blackcurrant (purple), lime (green), orange (obviously orange!) and lemon (yellow). The red ones are my favourites with the sweetest flavour and I always save some of these for last.

Not too good for you admittedly but as long as you don't end up eating a packet every night and clean your teeth thoroughly after you should be OK!

Well, as I've been writing this I've actually just finished my last packet! Luckily I have a spare in the kitchen cupboard!

Summary: Great sweety snacks
