This is a snack you either love or you hate , just like Marmite! The other day I read an excellent review on these and it got me in the mood for a bag! I'm sure your familiar with this product, they've been around donkeys and at one time in pubs they were more popular than nuts! The Packaging... Clearly states they are the brand Smiths (part of the walkers company) and that they are Scampi flavoured fries (that's a hint that there is no fish in them by the way). Its a light green packet with a picture of the snack on the front. Nutritional and best before date on the back of the packet. My bag is 27g, recyclable and the ... Read the complete review

*********************** What is this smelly snack called? *********************** “Smiths® Scampi flavour fries, Scampi & Lemon flavour cereal snack,” from the Smiths® Savoury Selection ************************ Where did we get them? ************************ My husband came home from work a while ago and said he had had a pack of Scampi Fries, Wow! I remember having those when I was younger. He sent me out in search of them at the supermarket, but was unable to find them. People I spoke to remembered them but hadn’t seen them around for ages. Last month my husband came home with 48 bags of these ... Read the complete review

I'm feeling loads better after my recent cold/flu so ventured out to the pub with my mate today, when I got there I realised I couldn't face boozing so settled down with a bag of Scampi Fries instead! I haven't had them in sooooo long even though I love them to bits. Scampi Fries are proper fishy tasting and reek of fish as well. They are little pillowy crisps that are sort of 2 crisps joined together at the edges with air in the middle. They are corn snacks so are proper crunchy and melt in your mouth as well, you're better off to let them dissolve in your mouth because then they release an even strong fishy flavour and really get your tastebuds ... I love these crisps but I find it impossible to eat a whole bag so much to the annoyance of my hubby, I tend to wait until he buys a pack and then in the most winiest voice ever, I will ask if I can have a few. He usually moans about how I always steal his food and if I'd had asked him he would have bought me a pack before giving in and offering me a few from the bag. These crisps come in a 27g bag which is desperately small but once you've eaten them you will realsie that you wouldn't want a bigger bag because they make you so thirsty that you would be drinking pint after pint if you did. They cost around 50p but I'm afraid they aren't widely available. We ... Read the complete review

When it comes to hardcore crisp action, you can't beat scampi fries. They laugh at conventional crisps, because these pack more pungent flavour than anything else. These little rectangular crisps are ram packed with fishiness. Costing around 50p a pack, they're smaller than a normal bag, but much more intense. When you open the pack, you're hit with a distinctly dock-like smell of fish. It's so strong you wonder how they will taste, and so you eagerly put one in your mouth. The texture is very hard and crunchy, almost pork scratching like in fact. They're very fatty and dense, and covered in little dustings of flavouring. The ... Read the complete review
