Advantages: Has a variety of different textures and tastes, Seemingly gives you a little energy boost, Is relatively well priced

Disadvantages: High in calories

I am quite partial to the odd bar of chocolate now and again. If I had to pick one chocolate bar that I never wanted to go out of production, then I would choose Snickers. I think that a Snickers bar is by far and away the nicest chocolate that you will taste today, although that it is only my opinion. I used to eat the full-size bars but have since taken to eating the small mini bars, as a more healthy option.

The chocolate bar itself has to be one of the most versatile in terms of the taste and textures that are contained within it. There is a variety and range of them, which makes a Snickers bar as enjoyable as ever.

The bar itself, looks similar to its cousin, the Mars bar on the outside, but on the inside things are different. The exterior milk chocolate layer gives way to a wonderful combination of nougat, nuts and peanuts and is laced with caramel. The nuts serve to help give the bar a bit of crunchiness and also to make it rather chewy. The nougat gives that soft feeling that you get with all of the bars in the Mars family and the caramel just adds to the tastes and textures. The smells that eminate from the bar once you have bitten it are just lovely, you can smell the peanuts first and foremost and that is very nice. The caramel in a sense just brings everything together, the icing on the cake so to speak.

The bars come in packets of 6 bars each and are priced £1.18 and the Fun Size bars come in packets of 22 for £1.78 both in ASDA. Those prices are quite fair and you get far more for you money than if you were to buy the equivalent in normal size bars from a newsagent or service station. The individual bars come wrapped in a brown packaging plastic, with the traditional branding across the front a lighter brown belt of colour along the bottom. The packaging isn't the most appealing, but it's what inside that counts.

I would certainly recommend this bar to anybody who loves a good old bit of chocolate now and again. It is a wonderful tasting bar that sends your taste buds wild to be fair and is enjoyable time after time. The bar used to be called Marathon in its former days. I wouldn't disagree with that because it does really give you a major boost of energy. I often take a couple of bars with me to tennis, to give me that extra bit of energy or just to replenish it after a hard session or game. The mini bars are also very good for lunch boxes, picnics and for when you have people round to visit.

I like these too, but the rest of my family think they're awful. They're a 'love it or hate it' type of bar, I reckon. That peanut flavour doesn't appeal to everyone. Sue

I've never really got into Snickers - I'm more of a Mars bar person I think. Cheers, Jan

I love Snickers as does my son - they kind of feel a bit healthier than some choc bars cos of allthe nuts! Rxxx
