Advantages: Lovely - I could eat about 1000

Disadvantages: None

Ok so I have not done a chocolate review before which is unlike me because I am a chocoholic. Seriously I could sit and eat 10 chocolate bars followed by a whole chocolate cake and then washed down with a steaming hot hot chocolate.

Snickers Bars – All I have to say is yum, yum and yum!!! These have been one of my favourite chocolate bars for ages as they combine my favourite candy ingredients which are;
a) Chocolate.
b) Nougat.
c) Caramel.
d) Peanuts.

Now as a self-confessed chocoholic I can say that with each bite of a snickers bar you taste a little bit of heaven. Now I eat mine a bit strangely. First I like to bite the bottom off which contains the nougat, then I like to attempt to bite all of the chocolate off the top leaving me the peanuts in caramel.

Hazard Warning – You may be left with sticky fingers by following my methods.

-----

Now the history of snickers:
1854 gave us our first look at chocolate. Hershey Chocolate was first introduced around 1900 by Milton S Hershey who introduces the milk chocolate bar. Nuts were introduced into chocolate around 1908 due to Theodore Tobler and the toblerone. Snickers first came into existence around 1930 and were introduced by Frank Mars. Snickers have remained one of the world’s favourite chocolate bars due to its use of peanuts. The bar is loaded with them in the nougat and in the caramel.

-----

Ok now the bad bit, the energy values (per bar – 64.5g):
Energy – 1351kJ / 323 kcal.
Protein – 6.0g.
Carbohydrate – 34.1g.
Fat – 18.1g.

-----

Other Snickers bars you may not know about:
Now I had never heard of these before but apparently you can buy Snickers Marathon energy bars. These have 3 names.
1) Marathon Low Carb.
2) Marathon Protein.
3) Marathon Multi Grain Crunch.
I could not see where to buy these bars on the website but you can find information about them at www.snickersmarathon.com I did not have time to look at the whole site so let me know if you can buy them from there as they sound yum and actually quite good for you.

-----

Do not be fooled by Snickers however as although they look small they are anything but and actually fill me up quite well. They pack a lot into those little bars.

If you are a fan of Snickers chocolate then you will definitely appreciate the following. Snickers ice-cream, now this has to be the best ice-cream I have ever tasted. Vanilla ice-cream with caramel swirled into it and then peanuts wrapped in milk chocolate just thrown in there. So nice!

I know it is chocolate and that it is bad for you but I am a firm believer that a little bit of what you fancy is always good for you.

Also at the moment if you fancy getting a bit involved with Snickers, you can design a wrapper. Just go to www.itsthewrapper.co.uk.

Now Snickers are available from all good shops and the cheapest at the moment is probably Tescos as I bought a bar only today for 34p. A bargain for such a gorgeous chocolate bar. Now that is all I can really write about chocolate so go and buy a Snickers today and you will see what I mean.

Thanks for reading.
