Advantages: Taste, Texture, Popular

Disadvantages: I prefer the nutrageous, hurts teeth a little

Having just had a Reese's NutRageous bar and comparing them to Snickers I felt compelled to balance things out and actually have a Snickers bar (seems only fair doesn't it?). Snickers are created by Mars and are rather huge worldwide (whilst Reese's seem to be just entering the UK market, so are presumably only huge in the USA). The coming in a rather actioned packed wrapper which sees a brown background scattered with peanuts and the word Snickers looking like it's rushing through the centre of the bar. Admittedly not the coolest wrapper but it's far from the worst one out there.

Weighing in at a surprisingly heavy 57g the bar is one of the heavier ones out there rivalling Boost, Double Decker, Kit Kat Chunky, and Yorkie. What's more odd though is it doesn't actually look that big so I'm not sure why it weighs so much though the fact it has quite a lot in the filling including nougat, caramel and peanuts could well contribute.

So onto eating the bar, which has a few ridges across the top and a smell of peanut emitting from it (not as strong as that of the Nut Rageous). The bar is chewy, though I would say less so than that of the Reese's rival, the nuts also seem smaller and possibly more manageable to eat though a little less taste. The nougat (I'm assuming) is hurting my teeth (I'm assuming it's the nougat at the Nut Rageous didn't have it and my teeth didn't hurt whilst eating that) though the taste is rather delightful and perhaps a bit more contained and a little less nutty out rage of the other bar. A mix of crunchy and chewy is always nice and the bar nails that down to a T and manages not to be overly salty (a problem often plaguing peanut chocolate bars).

Nutritional Information (per100g)
506 Calories
9.5g Protein
55.4g Carbohydrates
27.4g Fat

Per Bar (57g) they contain 288 Calories (14% RDA) and 15.6g Fat (22%).

The ingredients include Peanuts, Milk, Whey Powder (maybe that's where the mass comes from?) Soya and Egg white. Note-the bar (thankfully) doesn't have one of the stupid warnings along the lines of "May contain Peanuts" that seemingly does nothing to respect the intelligence of the person eating it.

Overall it is the (or at least one of) the most popular chocolate bars worldwide has shown it's longevity and with good reason, introduced almost 80 years ago the bar manages not to get boring as theirs so much to it. Although some in the UK may remember it selling as "Marathon" I think more will know it as "Snickers", which tells you everything, the Snickers brand just works.
As a bar they are solid and pretty much flawless (bar it being Mars chocolate) though I will admit I'm more of a Hazelnut fan than a peanut one, and fans should perhaps try the Reese's NutRageous if they feel like a change or want something with out nougat and with more peanut flavour (the bar seems to take the same concept but replace the nougat with Peanut butter). It also needs to be said that Cadbury's direct rival "Starbar" seems too salty and contains too much peanut content to actually be edible in my opinion.
For those with sensitive teeth I'll also advise the "other" bar.

Summary: Popular and decent...though not the best
