... and some may like it with a spread of jam but for me, it's enough as it is. I bought this with a bbd about 3 weeks ahead so will keep but once opened you'll need to eat it within 2 days or it will dry up. It can also be frozen. Overall, I do quite like this. It's tasty with a brew and as a quick sweet snack but I do prefer the original malt loaf and that's the one I'll keep buying. I'll happily eat the two loaves I've bought but unless it's on offer I don't think I'll get it regularly. For me, it's just a bit too sw...more

I'm still going through a Soreen Malt Loaf fetish at the moment and was in Tescos only this morning and wandering down the aisles spotted this one, Soreen Cinnamon and Raisin Fruit Loaf on a buy one get one free. So instead of the usual, I thought I'd give this one a go and see how it compares. It comes in the familiar yellow packet with the Soreen logo on it, but because this is a bit different, it has pictured some cinnamon sticks and some red grapes on it too. On opening the packet, you immediately get quite a strong sniff of cinnamon which is very nice but is quite sweet. Also, you'll notice that this loaf is not the dark treacly colour that ...  Read the complete review

I only had time for a quick nip to town today, just to pick up a few essentials, as you all well know that its virtually impossible to come back without buying something that wasn't on your shopping list ! I was just sauntering past the cake shelf in Farmfoods and I spotted a malt loaf, I haven't had one for ages and just as I was going to stick one into my hand basket my friend who works there made me jump out of my skin. "Try one of those!" she was yelling in my ear. By that time Julie was frantically grabbing this cinnamon and raisin malt loaf off of the shelf and cramming it into my basket, so in the end I had little choice. It was 55p, so I had ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Soreen Cinnamon and Raisin Loaf: 'Shhhhhh Claribella's having her cinnamon Soreen' (500 words)

I love anything that has a cinnamon and raisin flavour to it and have been addicted to cinnamon and raisin bagels lately. Imagine my delight when I came across this flavoured Soreen loaf whilst I was doing a food order on approvedfood.co.uk? I almost jumped out of my seat when I saw that they were selling it for just 50p so I didn't think twice about clicking the 'Add to basket' button. I will expect that most people remember the advert for the Original Soreen loaf and ever since I tried a bit of this at the weekend, I have had the words 'Shhhhhh Doreens having her Soreen', playing over in my head. The loaf is a bit like a minature cake and is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Delicious Warming Raisin & Cinnamon Loaf, Perfection! (345 words)

Rating:

Soreen Cinnamon & Raisin Loaf is a delicious loaf which is mainly comprised of raisins and wheat flour with the addition of delicious warming cinnamon. A 225g portion is available for around 89p from Tesco or any of the other big supermarkets and this will give you eight slices (although you might find yourself eating two slices a day!) and once opened the product will keep for two days unless stored in an airtight container. It is quite difficult to cut in to Soreen because it has a very squishable texture and you will find it best to use a sawing type motion rather than a straight cut motion and this should give you a pretty unsquished ...  Read the complete review
