Advantages: Handy, ideal for an attack of the nibbles, keep me going til lunch.
Disadvantages: Bland tasting, little over priced.
Being on Weightwatchers finding foods that are low in points are a must and when my colleague was tucking into these at her desk one day she offered me one to try and at 1 and a half points per pack these are great to eat and grab on the go to get your day off to a good start.
*~*Mini Breaks*~*
The Special K mini breaks are golden oats, wheat and rice baked into deliciously crunchy, thin biscuity bites.
The come in Original flavour and also Chocolate flavour both are pretty tasty and handy to have in the cupboards if you don't have time to have your breakfast at home and need to eat something on the run.
The breaks are crunchy, no really crunchy and there is a hint of chocolate but it certainly is not sickly or overpowering the only downside to the product is that is is really dry and I find I have them mid morning with a cup of tea.
I personally do prefer the original ones and when they were recommended by my colleague she said the original were the better tasting products.
These are ideal for nibbling at the desk in work or if you want something to pop into your bag to eat on the go and this is the marketing ploy that has been created by Kellogs to fit a niche market......Dieters ideal for curbing the sweet cravings and to help curb snacking.
The mini breaks do taste very sweet and for someone on a diet they are very appealing due to the restrictions that apply, personally I would like nothing more than a big bowl of sugar puffs but realistically this is not a viable option.
These were on special in Tesco for just £1 per box which offers great value as you get 5 bags in a box. The standard RRP is £1.99 which is not really all that reasonable but falls in line with most cereal bars but when you consider that you can get a huge box of cornflakes from Asda for just 99p and a 30g serving is just 1 and a half points also it really gives you food for thought and you become to realise that this is really just a product about convenience.
Inside each packet you get about 10 mini breaks and a lot of crumbs to the bottom and they are fairly satisfying. For me eating a few small bites is much more satisfying than one item for the same value such as a Fitnesse Bar or Packet of Skips.
Since starting my diet 6 weeks ago I am now buying these less but found they were ideal to take to work to nibble on when I got an attack of the munchies and to stop me from going to the vending machine.
For those not on a diet I am not sure if these would appeal as although they are fairly sugary they are still quite bland and lack in taste.
