Advantages: Tasty and give slow releasing energy and sugar

Disadvantages: None

Today was a really odd day for me. Thanks to Dooyoo I had enough money in my pocket to join a gym for 6 months. I don't actually mean thanks right now though to be totally honest and am struggling not to abuse the Dooyoo team for my sore body at the minute!

So I was inducted and then went around and had a damn good work out. However half way through realising I'd skipped breakfast as I usually do and totting up I'd burnt over 500 calories I was starving for the first time ever. I could feel my blood sugar levels were really low and at one point I felt rather sick. I knew it was a food issue so I had to stop me training and go home. Before leaving though I knew I was going to have my dinner when I got in but wanted something to simply nibble on route as it were and in a machine in the foyer of my gym these were there priced 50p a bag and I thought they may help subside my hunger for half an hour at least lol.

The Packaging....

24g white foil bag and on the front I'm told they are Kellogg's Special K Mini Break 'Original' and perfect for nibbling. There is a picture of the biscuit type food on there too and I'm told they contain only 99 calories a bag (which is why I purchased them lol).On the back of the packet ingredients and allergy advice is listed as is nutritional information and storage details, contact details for Kellogg's are given, size is stated (as I've listed already) and finally there is bar-code on there. Simple, small packet and informative it is.

The Cereal Bites....

Lovely! Golden in colour and rough in texture they have a lovely sweet smell to them that is ever so tempting! They are made from rice, wheat and oats and are incredibly chewy and crunchy and have a lovely syrupyness to them although they are not overly sweet and/or sickly...just incredibly moreish! I got about 10 bites in my bag and they went down a dream! Afterwards my hunger pangs did feel a little subsided though you can't call these mega filling or anything like that, they left no horrible nasty after-taste of sweeteners or anything and simply filled a gap for a while.

Verdict....

These reminded me of biscuits which is great if your watching your weight. Sweet but not overdone or faked, seasoned and chewy these are a great little snack for anytime to boost sugar and energy levels more naturally than grabbing say sugary sweets or chocolate (that I tend to do alot!). Fresh..these are give them a whirl and see if you can treat your body to something healthy and actually find yourself liking them lol.

Allergy Advice....

Contains: Milk, Soy And Wheat, Oats & Barley.

Can be found in all good supermarkets etc.

Summary: A lovely cereal snack that's oh so healthy!
