Advantages: dairy free
Disadvantages: ?
Pure Dairy free spread with Soya. Baby Adrian (my grandson) has developed a dairy intolerance. He is breast-fed and when his mother my daughter, sleepy dormouse ate cheese or spreads and milk that are of dairy origin she discovered Adrian developed a sore red bottom and developed colic. She tried a dairy exclusion diet for herself and found that Adrian’s symptoms were better. We searched and found a dairy free spread called Pure. This Pure is a Soya spread. After using this instead of marge/spreads with dairy products she found Adrian s symptoms better. Pure Soya spread comes in a green tub with white writing. I have tried some and as a spread for toast and sandwiches I find it good the taste not unpleasant maybe a little strong. I used it today when I baked some scones I used pure instead of the fat I usually use. The results were good. It is difficult to be on a dairy free diet and pure seems to be a good solution. Pure is a creamy yellow colour a very soft spread pure with Soya. It is suitable for vegan and vegetarians. Pure is low in saturates high in polyunsaturated, low in salt. Has vitamins A, B, E, D2 &B12 is suitable for spreading baking and cooking. Pure contains 624 kcal per 100g. Is suitable for freezing. Pure is available in soya, sunflower or organic. Pure is available in most supermarkets I can not remember the price I will check next time I go shopping. I think it was about 70 p for 500g. web site www.purespreads.com has information, recipies and competitions looked good. Thanks for reading . This pure spread was the answer to this anxious mothers worries Hope it was helpful. Mary

- 22/01/04 Interesting op. Has your daughter tried goat's milk or is he totally dairy intolerant? |

- 22/01/04 Soya is such a good alternative to dairy. I do worry about the GM though. |

- 22/01/04 Hi! Nice to see so many familiar names here. I'm still feeding but nothing I eat seems to upset my son! Ann |
