Premium Review Stagg Vegetable Chili: tasty chili in a tin! (355 words)

Stagg chili, i love it! its probably not as good as my own homecooked chili, but for the tinned versions out there, this is by far the best tasting, shame i can review the dynamite version (please try it!!!). You can cook it in the microwave, or on the hob. I usually cook mine on the hob, tastes bette and i add a little chili powder if im feeling in the mood! It comes in an easy-open can to offer a fast meal solution with a rich and hearty taste. No wonder it's beloved by chili-lovers everywhere, including me!! Premium Review But Daddy, why'd they got to call it Stagg? (335 words)

(FYI - the headline is from the advert, in case you never saw it. Otherwise it just seems like a weird question to ask.) I used to eat Stagg chili every now and again while I was on the Slimming World diet, as you could eat the meat version it as a free food on a red day. These days I tend to prefer the vegetable version, as the chunks of mystery meat in the other, while tasty, do somewhat look like dog food. Stagg vegetable chili makes a filling and tasty lunch, comprising of several types of beans, peas, peppers, tomatoe puree and, of course, veggies (61%). While it's not as good as a homemade chili would be, for canned it's pretty fair. And the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Stagg Vegetable Chili (249 words)

To be quite honest I was a bit apprehensive when I first heard the brand name of this product. Just like the television advertisement says...why'd they have to call it Stagg? But once I tried the classic I was hooked. The spicy flavour mixed with the onions, peppers, beans and beef was absolutely amazing. But hold on a minute...this version is missing one key ingredient...the minced beef. I would have thought that with the removing of such a key ingredient from chili would have a massively detrimental effect on the taste. I couldn't have been more wrong. True the beef is removed, but there are more vegetables and more flavours added in this tasty ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Spice up your life (166 words)

Although I am not vegetarian I find some tinned meat products to be fatty, greasy or gristly and so I like to eat the veg alternative. I have eaten the meat version of Stagg chilli which wasn't bad but when I saw this tin I thought I'd give it a go. The first thing to strike me on opening the tin was that it looked very much the same as the meat dish. The smell was also the same. However, on pouring it was clear that it was thinner and more watery. It does, however, have a good amount of red kidney beans which for me are what makes a chilli. Unlike many other tinned chillis, this one is genuinely spicey to the point of hot, which again, I like. There is, I believe, a ...  Read the complete review
