Starburst/ Opal Fruits whatever you want to call them, they are lovely little sweeties! I still call them opal fruits cos thats what they were called when I was wee :)

Hard to believe that they were introduced in 1960...before my mum was even born!

The original flavours are lemon, orange, lime, strawberry and blackcurrant. However there have been many variations and new flavours introduced. Among the additional flavors are banana/kiwi, plum/passion fruit, raspberry, strawberry-banana, mango, melon, tropical punch, green apple, blue raspberry, watermelon, mixed berries & cream, peaches & cream, orange cream, and strawberry & cream. Europe also has the "Sour" assortment, which includes apple, cherry, pineapple and raspberry, as well as Strawberry Mix. (my personal favourite!)

They are really full of flavour so their tag line "Get your juices going!" is quite apt!

On their website starburst.com they claim that each one is high in vitamin C...i am not sure if there is any truth in this rumour!
