Priced at around 40p in most shops, they tend to be most widely available in small local shops such as Spar, but can be bought in multi-packs from all supermarkets. The defining thing about the flavours is that they are very intense and powerful, often so much so that they make your mouth water as you eat them. The way I eat them is I unwrap four or five and squeeze them into one big blob, then stick the whole thing in my mouth, gi...more

Premium Review Starburst Twisted Chews: A nice twist on an old favourite (260 words)

OK, so here's a new product where they've taken the beauty of starburst and played around with it a bit. The name twisted chews makes them sound a bit fancy, but in actuality they are exactly the same as normal ones, it's just that they have two flavours in one. Those flavours are: Strawberry and lime Cherry and lemon Blueberry and banana. Square shaped chewy sweets in a range of fruit flavours, each individually wrapped in coloured paper and presented in packs of around 20 pieces. Priced at around 40p in most shops, they tend to be most widely available in small local shops such as Spar, but can be bought in multi-packs from all ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Get tongue twisted with these delicious sweets. (396 words)

I am partial to a bit of chocolate but my hubby just adores sweets. He came across these on approvedfood.co.uk at two 180g bags for just £1 so he couldn't resist adding a couple to our order. You can buy them from most supermarkets and they usually cost around £1.50 for a family sized bag so I think we got a bit of a bargain! They are based on the normal Starbursts in that they are exactly the same shape and size but they are two flavours in one. The sweets are individually wrapped and come in three flavours which are: Strawberry and lime Cherry and lemon Blueberry and banana When I first tried these I wasn't ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Starburst Twisted Chews: Tremendously tongue tingling and tantalizing!! (634 words)

Tremendously fruity tastes twirled tightly to be teasingly tongue tingling and tantalizing. Well, that's a mouthful if ever I've heard one and even more of a mouthful if your mouth is full of the sweets it is referring to. Lost, ok so am I. Starburst Twisted Chews are the new variety of fruit flavoured chews from the Mars Corporation. I am a big fan of sweets; especially fruit chewy sweets and one of the best varieties around have to be Starburst. Starburst were originally know as Opal Fruits and I know many people who still lust whimsically after Opal Fruits and still have not embraced the name change. Opal Fruits were first produced ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Twisted? I must have been..... (564 words)

Today I have been fighting a headache for most of the day, and I feel rather lethargic......a sugar lift was therefore required, and I toddled over the road to the newsagent opposite my office. Normally I would, in these circumstances, pick up a bag of Haribo Starmix, but these caught my eye, and despite them being more expensive, at £1.59 a pack, compared with Haribo at £1.20 a pack, I bought them. For those of us born pre 1980, starburst will always have a place in our hearts as "Opal Fruits"......closely followed by the phrase, "made to make your mouth water". They are individually wrapped chewy sweets, about an inch ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Starburst Twisted Chews: Odd twisted sweets (208 words)

I love sweets but do not buy them all that often anymore. I have a sugar intolerance and they send me a little crazy shall we say?! I do still buy them occasionally as a treat. I love Starburst Twisted Chews. They are truly scrummy! Starburst (Opal fruits to those who can remember the good old days!!) are really fruity and very chewy - exactly what you want from a fruity chew sweet really! The Twisted Chews from the Starburst range are made of two distinct flavours that are then twisted into one sweet. I find that some flavours compliment each other perfectly and others not quite so much - but it is all a matter of personal preference and none of them ...  Read the complete review
