Advantages: Erm....

Disadvantages: Horrible tasting, overpriced for what it is and no nutritional advice is given on the packaging

On my quest today to try another choccy bar I've never tried, I came across this at 46p in my local Nisa store and decided I had nothing to lose! I'd never even heard of it before and was right torn between picking this up and my usual favourite Twix but hey ho this won out of curiosity once again!

The Packaging:

Long brown paper wrapper and dotted on that are photographs of the chocolates. In white and yellow writing on the front I'm told it is Storck Riesen 'Dark Chocolate - Chewy Toffee'. On the back of the wrapper (now all in white writing) I'm told the size (in this case it's 45g), contact details for the company are given and I'm told it is made in Germany, ingredients and storage advice is given, the best before date and recycle symbol are displayed and finally there is a bar-code on there. For some reason to me this feels like cheap and nasty packaging and it took me a few minutes to work out why and it's because it's actually made out of paper!

The Chocolate:

Well when I first opened up the wrapper I expected a bar of chocolate because of the way it was presenting in the wrapper as a line. Well it isn't These were 5 chocolates merely presented in a row. All like chunks, dark chocolate and glossy and looked ok I mean I did like the size of the squares (that's about it on the positives though lol)i.

Taste wise I found it all foul. The chocolate was bitter and void of sweetness and tasted rather bland I was hopeful when I realised there was a toffee centre in each and sure there was plenty of that but it was infused with dark chocolate so a dark brown colour.

Overall:

Very cheap tasting. Avoided being sweet really and I found it boring to say the least and too chewy! There was enough chocolate and enough toffee but it tasted so bitter I ate two of the chunks and binned the rest which seriously isn't like me cos I'm a gutsy pig! Not nice! It melted nicely and if your a real dark chocolate fan then by all means try it but for me it just tasted cheap.

Summary: Blurgh!
