Advantages: Interesting flavour

Disadvantages: Very chewy and quite hard to digest

Grr! Highly irritated by Windows Vista and their installed new updates just restarting my computer in the middle of a review - I attempt to re-write it again!

Toffifee is a snack that my wife was fortunate to receive this christmas, I've been in a bit of trouble recently for polishing off any biscuits or chocolate lying around the house and I knew that this box of chocolates would be very well guarded. I took my chance to dip into them when my wife was out walking the dog and it paid off!

I'd never tried a Toffifee before, so it was mostly out of curiosity that I was hunting them - I can't claim to have starved over the festive period. Toffifee are German but no one is perfect, it's even the homeland of the great Dooyoo!

The said chocolates came in a rectangular box which was 6 by 4 (for the mathematical failures - that's 24 chocolates), I quickly whipped out the golden coloured plastic tray and ripped the plastic covering slightly, to get my hands on one of these delicacies.

The shape of a toffifee was like an egg cut in half, the majority of it was coloured a caramel colour with the exception being the top which was a chocolatey brown colour. When I bit into it, I discovered that the chocolatey colour penetrated deep into the sweet - I also realsied that it wasn't a chocolate taste but fortunately nor was it poo either - it was a nutella like substance and it was topped off with a little hazelnut deep in the mix.

The caramel coloured substance was definitely toffee and the mixture was all rather chewy, gooey and sludgey. A little bit too much for me in fact and I don't think I'll be stealing any - my wife seems to enjoy them though. I did however, have one more just to ensure that this review wasn't based on a one-off experience!

Summary: A bit different!
