I go to Subway quite a bit and one of my fave sandwiches from there is the Italian BMT which is a real meaty sandwich that you can dress up with whatever salad you want.

You choose from the breads in Subway as usual and I think this goes best on the hearty Italian one because it goes good with all the flavours of the meat and you get a choice of having cheese or not, I recomend having the cheese because it melts nice if you have your sandwich toasted and mixes in with the meat to give it an extra nice flavour.

The person in Subway will put pepperoni, ham and salami on the sandwich and then it's up to you to decide what salad you want on it. I think red onion, olives, sweetcorn and lettuce go the best but sometimes I have tomato and cucumber as well if I'm very hungry. This sandwich is probably the greasist one in Subway because of the salami and pepperoni and this is even worse if you get it toasted because then the grease will come out of the meat and even though it tastes nice it's not very good for you like that!

The meat is all good quality and tastes fresh to me. The salami is nice and spicy and so is the pepperoni but I think some days that the pepperoni is a bit too spicy because it makes the sandwich taste dead hot sometimes, but this doesn't always happen so I reckon it depends what supplier Subway are using that day if they change suppliers but if they don't then I don't know what makes the meat spicier some days than others.

I usually have their spicy bbq sauce on this sandwich because that goes nice with the meat but when my mum has it she always has mayo because she thinks the pepperoni is too spicy to add a spicy sauce to.

The Italian BMT is a very filling sandwich and a 6 inch one will keep you full up until your next meal is due. Sometimes if I'm very hungry I'll have a footlong one but I always struggle to finish that because the fillings in the BMT mean I get full up before I can finish it, but that's ok because I just wrap up what's left over and then nuke it for a few seconds in the microwave to liven it up again. This doesn't work with all Subway sandwiches though but this is one that is ok when it's been reheated.

Every Thursday the Italian BMT is Sub Of The Day and that means it only costs £1.99 instead of about £2.79. I just realised, it's Thursday today so I guess I'll be having a BMT for my dinner!
