Peanut butter is a kind of alternative sandwich filling popularised in America before being exported to the UK. It was developed by a St. Louis physician in 1890 as a nutritious convenience food and reached UK stores in the 1930s. The Brand Sun-Pat arrived on supermarket shelves in the 1960s and remains one of the more popular brands, possibly because it contains sugar. Apparently it's the UK's favourite brand and adorns 300 million sandwiches and rounds of toast every year. Sun-Pat contains added sugar, an E471 stabilising agent and sea salt. There are other brands out there that have no sugar or salt added and in my opinion offer an equally appetizing ... Read the complete review

::BUYING:: I was getting a bit bored of the sandwich fillings that were in my house; cheese, ham, beetroot...the usual, dull choices. So when I went to the shops I decided to opt for a peanut butter. I browsed the shelves, wondering whether to have smooth or crunchy. I love both, so it didn't really bother me. I reached out and pulled a jar of Sun-Pat Crunchy Peanut Butter towards me. The label on the front was a deep red colour, taking up about a third of the jar. Then centring the label, I noticed a picture of what I suppose was meant to be a nut, cut in half. It didn't look much like a nut though, more like a graphical beige shape. This odd image was ... Read the complete review

I sometimes work long hours and I have times when I just can't be bothered or when I want something nice and satisfying for breakfast on these cold wintry mornings. I usually have a variety of spreads in the cupboard and peanut butter is always one of these. Over the years I have tried a huge variety and I generally find them all to be of a similar quality. This Sunpat Crunchy peanut butter is provided in a glass jar with a screw top lid.. The label shows the usual information such as ingredients, nutritional information etc and just all the usual stuff you would expect to find. This peanut butter can settle a little if left in the cupboard too long ... Read the complete review

I am very much a fan of smooth peanut butter...well I was, until recently. I have been eating it and getting very fed up with it of late. My Mother had been buying shops own and branded offerings for me for a while now but they have all seemed a bit runny and texture wise, sugary. I was about to give up when Mum shoved this at me after buying it and telling me to try it for a change. I don't like crunchy, or do I?..... Well I avoided it like the plague for as long as I could. The thought of choking on bits of nuts was off putting but one night I was hungry and I couldn't see owt else I fancied so I decided to bite the bullet and give this a ... Read the complete review

I love Peanut Butter, always have done since I was a kid, taking peanut butter sandwiches to school with me in a packed lunch . It's something I've never grown out of, and I still have a peanut butter sandwich a couple of times a week , or, if I'm feeling really naughty, a peanut butter, jam, and cheese toastie! Sun-Pat is probably one of the best known brands of peanut butter here in the UK . It's not the only brand I use, but one of my favourites . The glass jar has a bright red label on the front with the Sunpat logo in chunky letters along the top . Below this is a picture, showing a peanut with the suns rays spreading out behind it, and the ... Read the complete review
