Advantages: good for decorating cakes

Disadvantages: ?

Super cook manufactures all sorts of items to make baking exciting, ready made icing sugar sprinkles, chocolate cake covering amongst all these cake decorations they make mini marshmallows.
Supercook UK is based in Leeds and has been making products for many years.
Supercook marshmallows come in 200g bags either in pure white or a coloured variety.

I have used these mini marshmallows in decorating ice creams and other deserts and for decorating special cakes. I have not used them in baking. I find at 86p for 200g from Tesco's they are more expensive than the larger Tesco own, which are fine for baking those crispy rice bars. Where you melt about 6g butter /Marge and 200g marshmallows then stir in 150g rice crispies
But I do like to use them for decorating cakes. They are good either pressed straight onto wet icing or they are the perfect size for sticking on to cocktail sticks to make googly eyes on a small cake add two of these with a drop of food colouring or currant for the pupil .. They make good little dippers for dipping into melted chocolate.
A really nice treat is to make a mug of hot chocolate and put some on the top where they will melt and go all frothy.

I have used mini marshmallows as an incentive when trying to encourage my disabled pupils to practice their motor skills and co-ordination. I give them a plate of mini marshmallows and a fork and let then practice stabbing marshmallows and then they can eat them.
There is a similar party game too to see how many mini marshmallows you can stick on a cocktail stick.

Per 100g these little marshmallows have 323 kcal, 0.1g fat.
After you buy them keep them somewhere cool if you put them near a radiator they will go sticky

You can buy these at most supermarkets and food stores.
Super cook has its own website http://www.supercook.co.uk/ which is quite good and has some ideas for mini marshmallows. Thanks for reading Mary

Summary: small marshmallows good for childrens oparties and cake decorating

I could eat these straight from the packet, but they are delicious in hot chocolate.
