I recently decided to try making ice cream and since I love the smell and taste of vanilla I thought it would be an ideal flavouring. I searched everywhere in our town for vanilla pods as I wanted to enjoy that lovely natural fragrance but I couldn't find any. I have recently taken to home cooking in a big way, usually I tend to eat junk food from the freezer and Chinese take away's. Since starting my weight watcher diet, I have been looking very closely at foods and what they contain, and I have come to the conclusion that baking your own is ideal as you can monitor what you are exactly eating. Roughly three weeks into my diet, I decided to make a cheese cake and to my surprise the recipe told me I would need vanilla pods, well I didn't have a clue where to start, so off to Tesco in search of these little vanilla pods.
