Advantages: delicious chocolates

Disadvantages: none

As a child I always loved Terry's chocolate oranges and particularly remember the old advertising slogan - 'tap it! unwrap it!' Well, with Terry's chocolate orange segsations you no longer need to tap them, but you will need to unwrap all of these delicious orange chocolates to get at the lovely taste! I love these chocolates as much as I loved the original all those years ago.

Segsations come in five different flavours each of which sports a different colour wrapper so you can easily tell them apart!

The first colour is dark blue and called 'magically milky' and this is the one which pretty much resembles the original. This one is milk chocolate flavoured with orange. Before you even unwrap it, the smell of orange is very strong - this is a good thing as far as I am concerned as I love the smell of oranges but might not suit everyone. This has a nice smooth texture and a strong taste of orange coming through the milk chocolate!

The second colour wrapper is orange and this one is called 'happily honeycombed'. The smell of orange is not half as strong with this one. When you eat it there are lots of little honeycomb bits inside. I don't actually like this one so much but it is quite reminiscent of eating a crunchie!

Thirdly, the red wrapper is called 'devillishly dark!' I absolutely adore dark chocolate so this is definitely the one for me! This is actually a combination of a milk chocolate top sitting on a dark chocolate base. When you first taste it, you don't really get a strong sense of orange, but this does come through a few seconds later and is delicious!

Fourthly, in a light blue wrapper there is 'crackingly crispy'. This is another milk chocolate segment with little extra bits of puffed rice. This has a very nobbled texture and is very crunchy to taste. I really like this one as well. The combination of the chocolate with the puffed rice works very well together, and again the taste of orange doesn't hit you straight away but catches you unawares a few seconds later!

Finally, in a yellow wrapper there is 'crackingly crunchy'. This is a combination of the terry's chocolate orange with mini pieces of cornflake. Not being a corn flake lover this does not appeal so much, but actually on eating it, the corn flake pieces are very small so you are not really aware of them!

All of the chocolates are shaped like segments of orange so look like the original chocolate orange pieces. I also feel that the name is quite clever being a play on words and yes they all do taste quite 'segsational'!

The bad news is that each of these mini chocolates contain 40 calories each and as I've just had to go through and try each one in order to write this - that's 200 calories I've consumed just like that. I would say though that you aren't likely to want to eat too many at any one time, as after eating a few they do feel a bit sickly!

They are also not the cheapest chocolates on the block! We bought a large container with a weight of 672 grams just before Christmas and that cost over £7! Luckily Sainsburys were doing a BOGOF offer at the time so it really wasn't that bad!

Overall, these are lovely chocolates and each of the five flavours offer something a little bit different!

Summary: Great chocolates for sharing!

A great review, having a variety sounds great but I can't stand orange chocolate, so will give them a miss. Nicola x
