Advantages: Five varieties of sweet. They taste good.
Disadvantages: Sweet varieties aren't different enough.
I'm a chocolate addict and for every birthday and Christmas I always get tons of the stuff as gifts in boxes and tins. One brand which I always recieve is these Terry's Chocolate Orange Sensations. Based on the original chocolate orange these are a mixed lot of orange flavoured sweets in the shape of orange segments.
I was just given a huge 900g sized tin of these. The packaging is a large, round flat tin that is jokingly branded as "segsations" rather than "sensations"! The lid is taped down and needs to be cut around the edge. Inside the tin there are five varietys of sweet:
The Blue One: Milk Chocolate flavoured with orange.
The Orange One: Milk Chocolate filled with honeycomb bits.
The Red One: Milk and Dark Chocolate pasted together.
The Light Blue One: Milk Chocolate filled with puffed rice pieces.
The Yellow One: Milk Chocolate full of crushed cornflake bits.
The name of the sweet refers to the colour of the wrapper.
The description of the sweets is provided on the bottom of the tin, along with nutritional information, ingredients and company contact details.
Typical values of the sweets is as follows:
A 100g portion provides 520 calories and 17g of saturated fat.
Ingredients include: Sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, maize, emulsifiers, rice flour, flavourings, glucose syrup and colour (beta carotene).
The chocolate may contain traces of nuts and wheat. They are marked as suitable for vegetarians.
I think the variation of sweets is not that great but find all of them quite tasty. I would perhaps like to see a white chocolate variety or something that mixes the orange flavour with a more bitter tasting plain chocolate. The puffed rice and cornflake piece sweets (yellow and light blue) remind me of those cakes you bake when you are five with melted chocolate and breakfast cereal. They are crunchy and moreish. The honeycomb sweet (orange) is bitter sweet and a little sticky in the mouth. The original plain milk chocolate sweet is soft and fluffy.
Each sweet in the tin is now printed with a word or phrase on top of the segment. These are life-affirming words like "You're fab" and "You're beautiful". This is quite a clever ploy and makes you feel slightly less guilty and much more positive when you are sitting stuffing your face with them!
A great gift to give or recieve but only if you love the taste of orange!
A company website is provided on the base of the tin to find out more information about the product:
