Advantages: Tastes great, looks interesting, nice flavour and smells lush
Disadvantages: Can be expensive, I only see them at christmas, Not healthy
We did not get a lot of chocolate this year but we were lucky enough to receive a chocolate orange. I really like chocolate oranges I find them very interesting to look at. They are constructed so well.
Terrys' makes chocolate oranges. They cost between £1 up to £2.50 depending on the offers available and the shops you use. I never seem to see chocolate oranges until December when they appear in there masses with loads of different types and flavours. The chocolate orange we received was the bog standard Orange flavoured with milk chocolate.
Chocolate oranges come in blue boxes with orange picture and writing. Once you have opened the box you will be hit by quiet and strong smell of orange. If you unwrap the chocolate, you will discover a very solid round shape of chocolate, which it is practically impossible to get into. Hence, the advert says do not tap it whack it! Wrap the orange back up and whack it hard against a table or something and it will separate.
Once the orange has been separated, there will be about 22 segments. This is the bit I find very interesting! Each segment has the words "Terrys" on it and has lines in the chocolate, which makes it look a bit like and orange. I find this very cool and can I imagine a factory of worked piecing the segments together. Which makes me smile?
The segment is too big for me to shove in my mouth whole so I bite them in half. The milk chocolate is very milky and tastes great. There is a very strong taste of orange, which lingers in your mouth for a long time after eating it. The chocolate is very moreish as well; you cannot stop at one segment.
I think if you can get them for the right price chocolate oranges are lovely. I enjoy the flavour and the chocolate is very good quality. These are lovely stocking fillers.
The box say "Milk chocolate flavoured with real oranges" Does that mean I can count these are part of my five a day?? That would be a bonus.
Summary: Don't tap it whack.....It's not Terrys or Dawns get off it's mine
