Advantages: Used to be fantastic, not any more.
Disadvantages: I've eaten candles that were less waxy.
I used to love a good old Terry's Chocolate orange, made by Terry's of York. I would ask for them for Birthday, Christmas, and any special occasion in between. I love novelty chocolates and there's nothing quite as novel as a solid chocolate orange split into segments.
The other 40 reviews will also pay heed to the greatness that was once the Terry's chocolate orange.
Unfortunately, the good old days are over. When production moved to Poland - no doubt to cut production costs - quality took an enormous turn for the worst.
The chocolate is now so waxy that I don't know whether to eat it or stick a wick in it and light it. I was grossly disappointed with my last chocolate orange and I ended up throwing half of it away, swearing them off for life.
I contacted the company and they informed me that 'everyone has individual tastes and not everyone can be expected to like our products'; what a remarkable coincidence it is that my 'individual tastes' changed at the exact time that production was relocated - I think not.
The Terry's Chocolate Orange was once innovative and enjoyable. It is an example of great things destroyed by corporate greed.
I'm afraid I won't be buying another one until they provide a wick free with it, and include advisory statements not to eat it.
Summary: A shameful example of great things destroyed by corporate greed.
