It wasn't until I first sampled Terry's Chocolate Orange as a child that I first learned just how wonderful the harmonious mix of chocolate and orange was. The bar is essentially a number of chocolate segments that resemble the composition of an orange, and when biting into it, it has a strong, wonderful taste of orange. The taste is very pungent but not strong enough so as to alienate or overpower the chocolate.

The chocolate, meanwhile, tastes lovely - it's very rich, sweet and creamy, and works in perfect synergy with the orange component. There are the milk chocolate versions that most people know (with blue packaging), but there is also a dark chocolate version (with red packaging) for a bit of variety, although I still prefer the original article.

These oranges are available in two versions - as an entire orange that comes wrapped in a box, and you can also buy a small chocolate bar version, where a few segments simple come in a wrapper. The only advantage with this bite-size version is that there's generally more flavours available, like white chocolate.

Regardless of flavour, these are delicious snacks that of course aren't too healthy for you at all, but are an original and inventive snack in the often derivative confectionery world. There's a variety of flavours (although some are far harder to come across than others), but I prefer the original milk chocolate orange version. The mix of chocolate and orange in your mouth tastes great, and you needn't really even like oranges too much to love this gorgeous snack!
