Advantages: Good texture and taste, not greasy or gristly

My daughter decided she would have quite enough cooking to do on the morning of my granddaughters birthday party so she saved time and energy by buying ready cooked cocktail sausages to put on the sticks.
She bought two packs of 35 pork sausages from Tesco priced at £1.65 a pack, they are currently on offer at two packs for £3. They are 62% pork, which although not great is roughly the meat content I would expect for these, with the rest of the sausage being made up of rusk and pork fat and other ingredients that do not bear thinking about.
They look well cooked and are a deep brown colour, much nicer looking than the pale ready cooked sausages I bought from Sainsbury's at Christmas. They are roughly an inch long and look plump with a lovely wrinkly skin, not unlike myself!
By the time I arrived at the party they were already on their sticks, but I pinched one before the guests arrived and was surprised at how tasty it was. These sausages are BBQ flavoured but it's very subtle which meant I could taste the flavour of the pork sausage itself, there is a nice flavour of BBQ seasoning but it tends to come through as an aftertaste more than anything else. This is good in my opinion because I find BBQ flavoured food is often overpowering and over done, this was perfect for my tastes and didn't detract from the taste of sausage.
The sausages have a nice texture for precooked ones, they are very similar to cooking sausages yourself and allowing them to go cold. They have a nice consistency which is easy for me to bite through and they go good and mushy while I am chewing, constantly releasing the herby sausage flavour. They are not gristly or fatty like other precooked sausages I've eaten and are not greasy to touch in the slightest, they don't taste greasy either which is obviously good. Everyone at the party enjoyed them anyway, children and adults alike.
Each sausage contains approximately 25 calories and 1.6g of fat, I say approximately because nutritional information is given per 100g and each sausage weighs about 9g and I've had to work this out myself! Not bad if you just have a couple but these sausages are very moreish and you could easily eat more than you originally planned!
Summary: Perfect for sausages on sticks.
