Tesco Butter Me Up

Description: Manufacturer: Tesco / Type: Spread

Newest Review: ... guidelines and a list of ingredients. The logo and the design reminded me of two of it's competitors within this market 'I ... more

... can't believe its not butter!' and 'utterly butterly' but is a little cheaper than them. Once the lid is removed you need to then peel away the foil cover to get at the butter beneath it. To me the colour and the texture was exactly what I expected a dull yellow colour I carefully put my knife in the product and spread it across my piece of bread. It covered the bread quite well and the covering was good. In a couple of places it had taken a little of the bread with it but generally consider it came straight fro...more

Premium Review Tesco Butter Me Up: WHERE'S THE BUTTER? (503 words)

I don't like Margarine, and if I am using on toast or bread I always liked to use Butter in the past. I know Butter is really bad for you, and considering how I like my hot toast swimming with Butter, then I can imagine the fat and calorie content. However when I am Baking, most ingredients call for you to use Margarine. When I hear the word Marg, I automatically think of Stork, which was the brand my mum used when Baking all those years ago. Since then we have came on leaps and bounds with the Marg thing, and so many brands out there basically say they aren't Butter, but taste like Butter without being so bad for you. This is where this brand came it! I was ...  Read the complete review

Tesco 'Butter Me Up' is similar to that of Utterly Butterly and I Can't Believe Its Not Butter in that its more of a margarine that tastes like butter. TASTE: Considering it is a cheaper version I dont feel Tescos have compromised on the quality of the product on offer. It tastes as good as the branded versions listed above at a smaller cost. It still has a real 'melt in the mouth' rich buttery taste and quite a thick yet spreadable texture to it. NUTRITIONAL INFO: (Per 100g) Protein 0.8g Carbohydrates 1.2g (sugars) Fat 59.0g Saturates 17.5g Sodium 0.6g Salt 1.5g To make you feel slightly better about ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Butter Me Up: Butter from the fridge (888 words)

Background: I have never really had any preference when it comes to buying butter. Usually I look round the shelves and pick the one I think I will get best value for money or and this happens more often the one on special offer or buy one get one free. As a result of this I have no loyalty to any brand or type. Price: This is the first time I had bought Butter me up, it was a BOGOF this week so that meant instead of getting one 500g tub for a £1 I got two instead. This price was paid at my local Supermarket Tesco and is subject to fluctuations in Diary prices. The Product: I found this product very easy to notice ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review I Can Believe it's Not Butter (332 words)

Tesco Butter Me Up is available in two sizes. A 500g tub will set you back £1.05, or a 1kg tub will set you back £1.80 (currently reduced from £1.98). To be honest, I don't think it's the kind of value for money that I usually expect from Tesco. Normally, they're brand name takes on popular products are noticeably cheaper, but in this instance that's not really the case. You can buy a 500g tub of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter £1.15, and a 1kg tub for £2. So yes you are saving a few pence by buying this marginally cheaper store's own version, but is it really worth it? The first thing I notice about this stuff is that it's really quite easy to ...  Read the complete review

Tesco Butter me Up Butter In my quest of trying out supermarket's own brand I picked up this one last month. The packaging looks ok to me with bright sunshine yellow color and Tesco brand displayed noticeably. The tag line vegetable fat spread and made with butter milk does generate eagerness. As soon as I reached home I wanted to try it out fast. Once you peel off the golden cover you get to notice the yellow Tesco butter. I find the butter quite soft and easy to spread. I was also satisfied with the taste also there is a glitch in terms of the salt content as I find it bit salty to my liking. Secondly I do not think it is matching other renowned ...  Read the complete review
