... the Tesco one kept its softness, even when heated, as opposed to the Asda variety, which hardened and made it more of an arduous task to eat, than a pleasure. It's similar to a pizza, but without the extra topping, (but that's something you can add to, if you wish) making it lower in calories. The flatbread itself weighs 225g, of which there are 75g of carbohydrates (of which 6g are sugars), 13g of fat, (of which 5.5g is saturated). The bread itself is quite substantial for one person, very similar to a large naan...more

Premium Review Tesco Cheese & Tomato Flatbread: Don't keep it all to yourself just because I did! (421 words)

I am sitting eating this flatbread as I write this review - it is delicious, so I might be a while writing this review, fitting sentences between mouthfulls. . . . OK I have actually decided to finish the bread first before attempting the review. I sill have the wonderful flavour in my senses, but I am going to start at the beginning - price and packaging. This cost just over a quid. Not quite a bargain, but not too expensive for a treat. The packaging is a plastic 'envelope' as you might expect. The first thing that caught my eye was the serving suggestion picture. Yes, you can see that they suggest serving this with a salad, ...  Read the complete review

Cheese & tomato flatbreads are a slightly healthier alternative to pizzas available from Tesco's. They're made of a soft bread base with a thin layer f tomato sauce and then a small amount of mature chaddar cheese on top. Although there isn't a lot of cheese, there is enough to provide a nice chessey flavour. They are available in the bread isle in Tesco's, and have a shelf life of a couple of days from whe they are purchased. I tend to keep mine in the frifge. Another bonus of the flat breads is that can be frozen and then used within a month. You pop them on a baking tray and heat them in the oven for 5-6 minutes if they are fresh, or 8-9 ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Cheese & Tomato Flatbread: Delicious pizza flavoured bread! (394 words)

At my Weight Watchers meeting this week a lady mentioned this Cheese & Tomato Flatbread which she said is a good substitute for a fat laden pizza, when I placed my online order I decided to get one to try for myself. I warmed it up to have with a salad, my brother was due to pop in so I had it ready for when he got here and we had a spot of lunch. I must admit I was very impressed, while I can't say it tastes exactly of pizza there's a rich flavour to the flatbread that makes it an extremely filling and tasty part of a meal. The bread is very doughy, it's quite thin towards the centre but gradually gets thicker as it spreads outwards. The ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Healthy alternative to pizza (286 words)

I have just finished my third flatbread, YUM! and feel I ought to share the experience. At the moment Tesco are selling it for £1, which is a bonus. I have not found this particular delicious bread (to the same quality) in any other supermarket - Asda and Morissons being the prime examples! Now, about the actual bread, it's handshaped (none of this template stuff) topped with tomato sauce (which gives the bread a slightly tangy taste) and delcious, melt in the mouth consistency cheddar cheese. The aroma you get from it, espcecially aftre just heating is like that of a pizza - for less calories! I must admit that I didn't quite follow the serving suggestion, ...  Read the complete review
