Despite me being 24 on my next birthday, my Mum still likes to spoil me and get me a birthday cake. The year before last, her choice of cake was the "Curly The Caterpillar Chocolate Cake" and I have to say I was very impressed with her choice. Packaging The box was lime green in colour with a sheet of plastic over the main part of the cake, meaning you can see that cake while it is still in the box. All the usual information is written on the box such as nutritional information and storage instructions. Cost Although, as I already mentioned, this cake was bought for me, I have to admit that since then, I have bought this cake for ... Read the complete review

We?ve had a birthday in our house recently. Normally I always bake a cake but for some reason this year my ten year old daughter who tries so desperately hard to pretend she is at least three years older decided she wanted a shop bought novelty cake. Most of the shop bought cakes I?ve purchased in the past have either been very dry or very small for the money spent out so I was a little wary when she stated her intentions. Off we popped to Tesco and I was amazed when she picked out a Chocolate Caterpillar Cake that only cost £4.99 compared to the huge array of others that were a lot more expensive. I can ... In my opinion you can never be to old for birthday cake, Never! My mum and dad still buy me one and I can not resist buying my other half one, it makes it even better that I like to present him with it at the most embarassing of times, thats my silly sense of humour for you! I have brought the usual chocolate cake and the football shaped cakes so this year I pulled out all the stops and went for the Tesco Chocolate Curly the Caterpillar cake!!! It got brought out in front of friends and family and the packed resturant all sang along.... poor boy!! Here are my thoughts.... The cake itself is exclusive to Tesco but I have seen very similar versions in other ... Read the complete review

Whilst celebrating my other half's birthday recently, we had been invited to a family meal and a few drinks at my parent's house. My other half was treated to a slap-up home cooked meal and the beer was a-flowing throughout. Not only that, but my sister and mother had gone to the trouble of sticking up a couple of banners and blowing up some balloons to add to the ambience of the celebrations. Imagine my surprise then, when my mother (sneakily) informed me that she had purchased a birthday cake and candles, and planned to produce it when she served the tea and coffee after our meal. She showed me a long, rectangular bright ... Read the complete review

As I have lots of nieces & nephews and quite a few friends with children now it's not unusual for me and 'Curly' the chocolate caterpillar cake from Tesco to meet at least a couple of times a year. Curly is a chocolate cake from Tesco, currently available for £4.98 and served around 10-15 people (dependant on serving size!). Curly has lots of segments to show that he is a real Caterpillar cake, he has a face on one end as well as coloured feet made out of icing and he has a thick, chocolate, icing style coat which breaks away quite easily to help make a mess all over your table! There is decoration on the top in the form of sweets and mini chocolates and ... Read the complete review
