Advantages: Good for the christmas stocking
Disadvantages: So ,so taste
Chocolate coins are made and sold by many companies. They are ideal to add as chocolate stocking filler or use as a cake decoration.
I bought some chocolate coins at Tesco for the children in my family this year. I had earlier bought co-op chocolate coins for my children at school.I wrote a review on the co-op ones a while ago. Now here is my opinion about the tesco ones.
These chocolate coins were also in a yellow/gold net bag and contained 3 different sized coins the same size. Sorry I forgot the price but I remember they were around a pound a100g bag.
.
These chocolate coins were wrapped individually in a gold foil wrapper. The gold coins were of different denominations .The large ones South African Krugerrands, some American one cents pieces, the slightly smaller ones some 2 Francs, some just teddy bear money. The smaller coins were a small coin from the republic ceska. .
Now to the taste.
Often I find the chocolate in coins and decoration inferior tasting nasty. These do taste very similar to the Co -op coins. While these chocolate coins not the best tasting Belgium or Cadbury chocolate it is ok. It's a MILK chocolate a bit like a cooking chocolate. The taste is not so nice that I want 2 though (which is good as I am sure they are calorific)
So not bad, but not really a winner on taste to me, still the Grandkids ate them all up without a moan.
Summary: chocolate coins for christmas
