Advantages: delicious

Disadvantages: unhealthy

Having tried and liked the Strawberry ring doughnut from tesco, I was keen to trhy the chocolate option. I adore chocolate f any form, and rarely find it too sickly, but the strawberry rings were very sweet so I did wonder a bit about this. There was only one way to curb my curiosity - buy and try!

Packaging:
The doughnuts come in a plastic litte case., just like the pink ones. This case is handy as it is clear. This allows you to see through to what you are buying. Although it does not tell you a lot about the prodict, it is quite nice to actually see them, rather than just hoping they look good through a coloured paper bag!

First impressions:
After opening the box you will instantly notice the aroma of the doughnuts. They give off quite a rich chocolate scent, not too dissimilar to chocolate croissants. They looked very pretty too! The base looked paler than the strawberry ones, but most likey this was because the icing was darker. It was quite thick, a rick chocolate brown colour with chocolate and white sprinkles. The little hole was a cute size,w ith icing dripping into it. Oh, how I couldn't wait to try one!

Taste:
Having tore a doughnut in half, I was ready to sample! I bit off a little piece from one and, and gave it a chew. The icing felt sticky and gooey against my tongue, very thick and enjoyable. It had such a rich chocolate taste to it, reminding me of a chocolate spread. The sprinkes give it an intersting crunchy texture where as the more moist base balances this out! It really is splendid!

Nutrition:
Doughnuts are healthy ~ what?! Okay that isn't true, I think it is clear! Nothing this sweet and chunky can be healthy! I was not too sure JUST how unhealthy these were though, so I heaed to chec the sticky little label that was keeping the plastic case closed. To my surprise I found that there was no information here regarding nutrition! I could not find any online either, so I would definitely say that if you are weiry of calories, fat or sugar, it is no guess thatyou need to stay away of these!

These are absolutely delicious, and not too badly priced either! A box of four costs around £1 to £1.50, the price changing regularly! They are great with a cup of tea, and perfect for settling any chocolate cravings!
