My favourite is very fresh French bread, a swipe of real butter, a slather of quality strawberry jam and a good pasting of very cold clotted cream. The senses go into overdrive.
The texture is amazing, the fullness and silkiness of the cream fills the mouth, no sweetness just the richness without sickliness melding with the sweetness of the jam and crunchiness of the French bread.

This clotted cream is sold under the Tesco finest label but is actually the real deal from Roddas Creamery, one of the most well known manufacturers of traditional clotted cream. Supplied in a 227gm clear pot in a cardboard sleeve with the tempting picture of a scone with jam and cream.
