... same as any cornflakes. I poured some into a bowl and they were a bright orange colour and the flakes were irregular in shape and size. They looked a lot like the Kelloggs variety so, so far I was impressed. I found that the cornflakes 'held their own' when it came to adding the milk and I was very surprised at the fact that they didn't end up really soggy by the end. They also didn't do that thing that a lot of cheap cornflakes do which is cling together for dear life once the moisture sets in. Taste-wise these are ...more

Premium Review Tesco Corn Flakes: As Good as the Big Brands (755 words)

I do like my boys to have a nice choice of cereals for their breakfast but as the cost of brand names has risen so much lately we have switched to the Tesco's own brand. I have to say that none of my boys even noticed the switch! ~~THE BOX~~ The cornflakes come in a nice big orange box and on the front you have the Tesco logo at the top and the product name underneath. There is also a picture of a nice big bowl of the cornflakes which does actually look very appealing. The back of the box is identical to the front. On the side panels you can find all of the product information including the ingredients, nutrition and storage ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Better than the Asda equivalent! (818 words)

I love cereals and have recently again been trying various different ones. One of the cereals I've sampled is Tesco cornflakes. This can be found in only in Tesco as it is specific to them however the equivalent can be found in other supermarkets such as Tesco. There are also similar cereals in branded names but you must be prepared to pay a lot more for them. They can be found in the cereal aisle alongside the other Tesco cereals. These particular ones were right next to the Bran flakes. They come in two different sized boxes. One of them weighs 500g and the other is larger at 750g..This is quite a average for your typical cereal box as most ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Corn Flakes: Tesco or Kelloggs, Tescos at half the price... I know which ... (336 words)

How can Kelloggs charge £2.26 for a 750g box of their Corn Flakes when you can pick up Tesco's own version for only £1.14 for the same size box, when it's essentially an identical product! (Prices from the Tesco website, 09/11/09) I love a big bowl of Corn Flakes in the morning with some ice cold milk and I usually bought the Kelloggs brand as I always thought that supermarkets own versions just wouldn't be as nice... ... I was wrong! Tesco Corn Flakes are the same as Kelloggs Corn Flakes, just different packaging! And what's great is, they are half the price! The only really difference I can see is what is actually in the Corn ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Yummy any time of day! (353 words)

Cornflakes are king of the cereals. I go through phases of liking other cereals more, but tend to eat cornflakes more than any other. The market leader is obviously Kelloggs, however some of the own brands ones are just as good, maybe even a little better. Some, however are truly awful, for example don't buy cornflakes from Aldi or be tempted by Tesco value ones. Sometimes value, just isn't value! The best of the bunch I think is Tesco standard own brand cornflakes. Most of the cereals produced by the big cereal brands, Kelloggs and Nestle have own brand equivalents now so unless they are on a good offer, I refuse to buy these brands as I don't think they can ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Corn Flakes: A cheaper alternative (439 words)
by - written on 09/10/09 (Very useful, 35 readings)

Whilst I go shopping at Tesco I have started to try their own brands and comparing them with the brand names. I recently did a review on tescos own brand beans (the ones in the blue tin). Tesco has a range of its own brands from the real no frills which you find in white and red packaging to products in the tesco finest range. I tried to find a cheaper alternative for Kellogs Cornflakes. I love cereal, especially cornflakes, having it sometimes as a snack as well as for breakfast. I saw this Tesco brand of cornflakes and had to try it as it was a much cheaper alternative. Here is the difference in price: Kellogg's Corn Flakes (500g) £1.93 (38.6p / ...  Read the complete review

So quick and easy to make. Naughty as regards calories!!

Just as good as the expensive ones, only 29p for six pancakes, that's 4.9p each!! Sometimes a little too dry, so add some butter or syrup.
