Once a week we have a family night that involves my children choosing a DVD and some yummy treats to eat whilst watching. A few weeks ago we were in Tescos to see what unhealthy but yummy food we could buy. My children both wanted ice cream, unusal they should both agree! We looked along the freezer cabinet and my son was attracted by the Carte d’or selection, then I noticed Tescos own brand of ice cream, looking remarkably similar to Carte D’or but with a lower price tag! I had never bought Tesco own brand ice cream before but was willing to give it a try. There were several tempting flavours on offer including, caramella, cherryicious, chocolatino, fruits ... There is such a huge variety of ice cream in our shops and supermarkets at the moment, that I felt spoilt for choice when I visited Tesco recently, looking for a tub of ice cream to put in the freezer. Tesco have introduced their own range of ice cream, which are similar in appearance to the Carte D?or style of desserts, and are presented in 1 litre flat plastic tubs. At present, Tesco offer four flavours: Chocolatino, Creamy Caramella, Cherrylicious and Vanilleta. We bought the Creamy Caramella to sample. The ice cream normally retails at £1.77 per tub, but today Tesco had an offer to buy 2 tubs for £3 ? at a price like that, I was hardly going to walk ... Read the complete review

Sometimes only ice cream will do. I've loved it ever since I was a child and it never gets boring due to the fact there are so many wonderful concoctions and combinations out there. Some plain and fuss free, and some pretty wacky. Although I do really enjoy a nice branded ice cream treat such as Haagen Dazs, or Mackies, sometimes I'll settle for a supermarkets own brand. I've recently tried the Tesco creamy caramella ice cream. The ice cream can be found in the freezers alongside all of the other ice creams and specifically the Chocolatino ice cream in the same range. The ice cream comes in a one litre tub which is exceptionally good for an ice cream carton. ... Read the complete review

Well having done the sauce I thought I'd better do an ice cream. This really is a very luxurious ice cream. The picture on the front of the tub is actually quite realistic. I would say that the description above is actually wrong. the product is not topped with nuts but is in fact topped with creamy fudge pieces. The base of the tub contains the caramel sauce so make sure that you take a scoop right down to the bottom when you serve it. The fudge bits are sprinkled in two swirls on the top and there always seems to be a fight in our house over whoo has the most fudge bits, and that's me and my husband not the children!!! But they really are worth ... Read the complete review
