Needless to say, this cake is very unhealthy and should only be eaten on the odd occasion because it contains 270 calories and 8.6g of fat. If you like cakes and fancy a bit of a change from the usual cream based cake then I would recommend these! They will set you back just over a pound for two and you can find them in the fridges at Tesco's....more

These are another of the wonderful cream delights that our neighbour gave to us recently. I was particularly delighted when I saw them because I love cakes with custard in them especially custard flavour donuts! The cakes are formed in the shape of a finger and there are two in the box. In between the sponge-like outer there is a spreading of raspberry jam and a thick layer of custard. Each finger is lightly finished off with a small 'dusting' of white icing sugar. On taking a bite of this cake, the one thing that struck me the most was how soft the cake part was. Tesco do a variety of cakes and confectionary, and some of these options can be found in the fridge sections of their stores in the dairy aisle. There are various ones to choose from, from eclairs to tarts, and these, the Custard and Jam 'doughnuts'. The cakes come in a cardboard box which has main colours of blue and peach. It does not look very exciting but there is a clear window on the top. Peering into this you can see what looks like a golden coloured cake. On top there is a sprinkling of what appears to be icing sugar. It looked so delicious, i couldnt wait to try!
