Tesco do a variety of cakes and confectionary, and some of these options can be found in the fridge sections of their stores in the dairy aisle. There are various ones to choose from, from eclairs to tarts, and these, the Custard and Jam 'doughnuts'.

The cakes come in a cardboard box which has main colours of blue and peach. It does not look very exciting but there is a clear window on the top. Peering into this you can see what looks like a golden coloured cake. On top there is a sprinkling of what appears to be icing sugar. It looked so delicious, i couldnt wait to try!

When you open the box there is a faint smell from the jam, though nothing more. I took a bite into one and my teeth sank rght through the incredibly soft thick layers. First it hit the sponge. It was very sweet indeed! The custard layer next was quite gloopy and cooling, vanilla sweet too. The jam layer was very thin, just a little fine layer smeared onto the bottom sponge. However it was still delicious and tasted of raspberry. The textures and tastes complimented each other well, it was heaven!

Naturally something this sweet is never healthy! Each cake contains a whopping 270 calories and 8.6g fat. Now you must agree with me when I say that is shocking. This is definitely not something to be eaten every day, even if you can afford to put weight on - it is far too unhealthy!

A box of two cakes will cost you £1. Now that means each one is 50p, so not terrible. You'd be lucky to go into a Baker's and get something for that price, so it is definitely something to smile about! Though it is not something for buying ever day either so its not going to break the bank.

These are definitely delicious and worth a try But it is not something I would have every day as a snack, theyre far too unhealthy and it would cost too much! Next time you are in tesco give them a chance, but dont buy too many!
