Tesco Double Chocolate Swiss Roll

I first bought a double chocolate swiss roll a few months back in the slough Tesco's. I went to Tesco to buy something with chocolate in as I hadn't had my daily chocolate fix. I do like to try and eat healthily - the thought of ill health or premature death simply because of a poor diet, and eating the wrong foods does leave you feeling quite low doesn't it? Every time my wife does a shopping you can guarantee that there will be plenty cakes brought home, this is because we as a family prefer cake to biscuits or sweets when it comes to a tasty sweet treat. My wife often sticks to the good old favourites like French fancies and Victoria sponge but she does from time to time try something different. Tesco describe this product on the packet as - " A yummy chocolate swiss roll sponge with a creamy chocolate flavoured filling- No artificial flavours or colours" I love cakes and chocolate cakes especially so I thought I'd give this a try. Unfortuneately, I found it a little disappointing. I certainly wasn't up there with the gorgeously chocolatey yule logs I'd had over christmas. The cake itself was soft, but a bit dry and had a powdery quality to it. To me it tasted cheap. There was no frosting or chocolate coating at all, which would have made it less dry. We seem to go through loads of cake in our house so I'm always on the look out for something which will last a bit longer. I noticed this swiss roll on the shelf and thought I'd give it a try - perhaps if people had to cut it themselves it would be a little less tempting than the "open the packet and eat" type of cakes which I usually buy.
