... it with a really sharp knife to get even slices. I couldn't possibly mark the cheese down because of it's soft nature, because in fairness, this is what Double Gloucester is often like. This isn't the best cheese for going in pasta dishes, as it's quite heavy on the buttery flavour and might be too rich and creamy for some people in their savoury dishes. It's lovely served with apples and crackers though, and it's really nice in a sandwich with a bit of cucumber and mayo too....more

Tesco Double Gloucester is a great little cheese. It costs £1.58 for a 250g block, or you can buy it as part of a long running deal at 2 for £2.50. We started buying it because of the offer and will probably continue to buy it even when the offer expires in December. This is probably one of the nicest cheeses I've had with change from a fiver. It's got a really rich, creamy and very buttery flavour to it. There's nothing over powering about this, and nothing too harsh on the taste buds at all in fact.
