Tesco Dried Fruit Mix......... Tesco Value Range is something I have been trying a lot of recently as money is, as always, rather tight. This Dried Fruit Mix however cheap is still somewhat of a luxury as I use it to make Rock Cakes. The mix comes in a rather good sized 500gram clear plastic bag. This is good because you are able to see exactly what you are getting. It costs a mere 65 pence which is a good price compared to other items similar to this and is nearly half the price of some alternatives. My husband was brought up with a mother and grandmother who spoiled him with homemade cakes and buns, and caused his complete sweet tooth. So in being the dutiful wife, I have tried, since we got married, to bake more. One of the recipes given to me by my husband's grandmother was for a tea loaf, which involves dried fruit. It was her that recommended that the Tesco value pack was perfectly fine for such a recipe. This 500g pack of dried mixed fruit, is as I said from the value range and currently costs around 65p for a bag. When I first came out of hospital I went on a fruit kick and ever since then I have found myself eating more fruit than ever. Over the last few months I have found myself eating a lot of different fruits too! One of these is the tesco dried fruit mix. The fruit mix comes in a clear bag. You can see the tesco value logo on the front which indicates a cheap and likely positive experience. Through the clear packet you can see all the fruits available at a glance: raisins, sultanas and orange fruits you'd assume was oranges! The packaging may be boring but it does its job.
