When I choose my yoghurts, I am not too fussy whether the yoghurt is of a brand name or not, but I do like to go for brands that I know are good, as I am sure to find it satisfying. However, one of the latest I tried was a store's own make, Tesco's to be precise; Tesco Fruit Duo Mix Peach and Apricot.

The yoghurt comes in a plain white pot which is split into two sections of different sizes. Around the lid there is a little orange label with the name printed on. This is nothing too exciting, and neither is the basic foil lid. If I am honest, I probably would have not noticed this on the shelves amongst the rest - it was actually my Dad who bought it for me! Why he chose it, I'll never know! Anyway, looks can be deceiving, and I certainly hoped that was the case here! Maybe it would taste much nicer!

When I peeled back the lid, mess free, a deliciously fruity peach scent drifted out. This was appealing to me and made me want to take a closer look! As I looked inside, I noticed in the larger of the split sections there was a fresh white yoghurt, and in the smaller was a pale yellowy purée sort of substance, and through it there were little squares of what I imagined to be the peaches and apricots. It did look interesting, but it may not have tasted the same!

Spooning some of the yoghurt into my mouth, I noticed it was quite natural and tangy. It did have quite a cooling taste, but was fairly watery too. As for the purée, well that was not too bad either. The juicy part was quite sticky and sweet. And as for the fruit, they were soft and full of their fruity flavour. They both tasted good alone, but how would it taste when I combined both fruit and yoghurt? Thankfully it was quite a refreshing flavour, most enjoyable. I finished off the yoghurt without a further moan!

I may not have fussed whilst eating, but how would I react when I read the nutritional information? This is printed on one side in small letters. Each 175g pot contains 175 calories, 28g sugars, and 8.6g fat. That's not too bad for a yoghurt, although for having quite a basic flavour, it is quite unusual. I guess the sugar and fat levels come from the sweet purée. It is also a good source of calcium so it helps to keep our hair and bones strong.

~WARNING~ contains milk, may contain traces of nuts

Eating this in itself is quite entertaining (!) because of the split pots, however I do often like to enjoy my yoghurts in other ways too. Eating on weetabix is one of my favourites, and I feel this one would possibly be able to do the trick! It's not too heavy, so it will not weigh the weetabix down, and the fruit part will give the breakfast dish a little kick. I also enjoy yoghurt on fruit, and again this is quite a reasonable option. I would suggest apricots or peaches for this, but pear might be quite nice too, though an acquired taste. It is a little to much to pop into a lunch box, but would make a good snack or dessert after meals. As the pot is made from plastic, you are able to wash it and reuse it, but as it is split and there is no lid, you may struggle to find a use for it!

This yoghurt cost just 39p from Tesco, which is not too bad a price. Even better, they do an offer of 3 for £1 on this and their other flavours, which is well worth taking advantage of! Now do not panic if you tend to eat yoghurts just once in a while; they have a good shelf life, lasting around a fortnight after purchase!

When comparing this to others, I found the results quite positive. This is just as delicious and fruity as the Muller split pots (Muller fruit corners), and much cheaper too. It is also reasonably as healthy as them too. They may not be as cheap as some of Asdas low fat options, but are certainly more exciteful and satisfying. They are also more versatile that a lot of yoghurts too, which is always a benefit. In all I think these rank quite high!

This is a delicious yoghurt and certainly worth a try if you are near a Tesco store. Also, if you try and like this, why not try the Cherry, or the Granola option in the same variety?
