“ Manufacturer: Tesco / Type: Sandwich „
When I was out shopping on Saturday I suddenly went hungry halfway round Tesco so brought an egg and cress sandwich..... I REALLY wanted one of their breakfast butties but they hadn't got any! lol
This egg and cress one was nice though, it's not the most exciting choice I know but sometimes what you think is going to be boring is actually wicked! It's the same as Ready Salted crisps because I always think I'm not going to want them but they're a proper nice flavour of crisps!
This is on wheatgerm bread and it's delish, I've had this sandwich a few times and the bread is always lovely and fresh with a proper nice flavour. It goes perfect with the egg because it hasn't got such a strong flavour as brown bread but is a bit more exciting than white bread.
It's egg mayo in the sandwich and it's done nice, the cress is mixed in with the egg mayo.... I'm telling you this because some places do their egg and cress sandwiches without mayo and with the egg sliced onto the bread. I prefer this way because plain egg is a bit dry but having the mayo mixed in makes this a lovely sandwich that's refreshing because of the egg mayo being kept cold in the fridge.
There's just enough cress in the sandwich for me, I wish it was sprinkled on the egg and not mixed in because you can't taste it very well but it's got a yummy texture still anyway.
This sandwich is a bit of a bargain as well and only costs £1.00...... that saved me a few quid because I was going to go into Burger King on the way home if I hadn't found a sandwich I liked the look of in Tesco!
