... sale for 2 kits for £2! The tortillas, seasoning and salsa can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days but I always use them for one meal. There are some other ingredients which you'll need to buy such as chicken, onions and peppers and depending on how much filling you want will depend on how much you buy. For two people I tend to use 2 chicken breasts, 1 onion and a packet of red, green and yellow peppers, this gives a lot of veg to the meal but I prefer this. Fresh peppers are much nicer than frozen peppers but I d...more

Premium Review Tesco Fajita Kit: A fantastic meal kit (502 words)

Probably one of my favourate types of cooking has to Mexican and the Tesco Fajita meal kit is a simple, quick and easy way to have mexican cooking on your table in 20 minutes. Having tried the more expensive branded types of fajita kits, namely Old El Paso and Discovery, I have to say I far prefer the Tesco own brand version, and for the price, a mear £1.90 as opposed to ~£2.60 for the branded kits it is far better value. The pack comes in a standard square cardboard box with all the instructions for cooking on the rear in 4 simple steps. The front of the packaging has all the nutritional information, what is contained within the pack (which varies between the ...  Read the complete review

My other half and I decided to make a Mexican themed meal for tonight and therefore opted for Nachos & Fajitas as they were nice and easy and we are quite lazy on Saturday nights! Within the kit we received 8 flour tortillas, spicy tomato salsa & fajita seasoning. The flour tortillas are easily cooked on a plate in the microwave for 45-60 seconds (depending on the wattage) the tortillas are lovely and soft and easily to fold over when filled. The spicy tomato salsa is for putting on top of your chicken before you fold the fajita. There is really nothing spicy about this salsa and I found it to be very pleasant. I am not normally ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Fajita Kit: Tesco Fajitas - A Spicy Little Number!! (627 words)

TESCO FAJITA KIT I am not the most adventurous cook, pretty standard and boring really. Every time I try something new, for example a chinese stir fry, it is never as nice as the take away and I fell disappointed. Having said this, at the moment I am fed up with cooking the same thing, so I asked my daughter what she would like for a change. She said she had chicken fajitas at school last week and it was really good, so I decided to give this a spin. ***What is the kit like?*** I am sure with a bit of research I could have put this together with bare ingredients, but I thought there was less chance of it going wrong if I bought it all ...  Read the complete review

****What is a fajita?**** A Fajita is a Mexican dish consisting of meat cooked in 'spices' with red and green peppers and onion served in a tortilla wrap. Some people like to add sour cream, guacamole and grated cheese, although this is subject to taste. ****Why Tesco's own brand fajitas?**** My other half loves international cuisine and since being with her I have found that my taste buds and pallet has changed no end. It was a trip to Pedros (a Mexican restaurant in Chapel Field Park, Norwich) that persuaded me to try a chicken fajita. I really enjoyed the taste so went looking for ways to replicate this dish at home. Our ...  Read the complete review

I got home from a long day at work yesterday and didn't want to spend hours in the kitchen cooking up a meal. I fancied something quick and easy to make and always have a fajita meal kit in the house for days like these. The kit comes in a cardboard packaging with everything inside separately wrapped (tortillas and salsa in a clear plastic wrapping and seasoning in a paper wrapping) The tesco fajitas meal kit is great value for money. It only costs £1.90 for for the kit which includes 8 flour tortillas, spicy tomato salsa and fajita seasoning and compared to other fajitas kits on the market for example, Old El Passo costing around £2.80 it's excellent value ...  Read the complete review
