When it had heated it through, I shoveled some into my mouth and what a disappointment! The taste of vanilla was hardly apparent at all and instead it had an incredibly insipid, overly sweet taste. It was very creamy and very thin, thin enough to run off a spoon not at all like I would expect custard to taste like.

They say never to go shopping on an empty stomach and now I know why. Bypassing the salad aisle, I decided some cake would be nice. What can go better with cake than custard so in my typical impulsive way I bought some Tesco finest custard infused with vanilla.
