I don't usually buy biscuits mainly because I know I will end up eating far to many! I am not keen on my children eating biscuits either. However my last clubcard statement from Tesco included a voucher for a free packet of their finest half coated triple chocolate cookies. Now I would have preferred that they had sent me a voucher for some broccoli but as they didn't I was forced into buying, and eating the cookies!

So it was I found myself in the alien territory that is the Tesco biscuit aisle. The cookies were easy to find and stood out from the run of the mill type of biscuits by their superior packaging. No flimsy plastic cover for these beauties, but a box regally coloured in mauve and silver. If I had to pay for the cookies they would have cost me 85p for just 8. So were they worth it?

On opening the box the cookies certainly looked yummy. They are quite dark and the white chocolate chunks were easy to see. Each cookie is quite large, about the size of the palm of your hand. Reading the back of the box (always a mistake with junk food)! I was a bit shocked to see that each cookie contained 10.2 grams of sugar and 135 calories, not to mention 7.3 grams of fat! The cookies are described as half coated in Belgium chocolate. However I would say they have had their backs laid in the chocolate if you know what I mean! The cookies not only have lovely white chocolate chunks, but milk chocolate chips and plain chocolate chunks. In fact each cookie has 6% of each type of chunks and chips.

Now let me tell you about my verdict on the all important taste test. Each bite will give you an amazing chocolate hit! The cookie itself is just the right texture, not too hard like some biscuits that nearly break your teeth. They are almost chewy but melt in your mouth. The Belgium chocolate covering on the bottom of each cookie is not too rich and really adds to the smooth, rich taste. For me, the best bit is those white chocolate chunks contained within! I love white chocolate and the chucks in these cookies are big and creamy. There are also plain chunks and milk chocolate chips. I would say Tesco have got the proportions just right! These cookies are perfect to have with a cup of coffee for a mid morning break, although far from perfect for your figure! Luckily the cookies are quite big so one was enough!

I won't be buying these on a regular basis but would definitely buy a box if I wanted to have a treat or had a friend visiting. I would say these are the best cookies I have ever tasted! They are obviously only available from Tesco !
