I have read both reviews that think this is a great product with surprise. I think these wedges are horrible! As I work in a bar, we have wedges that are deep fried, and taste very crispy, are cooked through a lot quicker, and go well with things like burgers or just as a snack on their own. Having enjoyed those wedges at work, I tried these. The main problem is that the wedges are so large you end up having to cook them for a very long time. This not only costs you a lot of electricity, but they were also ready way after the rest of my food. The outside was quite tasty, it was covered in dusty flavourings. I have never been a fan of potato wedges. I mean they don't taste too bad, so I don't have any real reason to dislike them. What I think it boils down to is the fact that they come out of the oven. Now this isn't why I am unsure about them. It is just that for years I have been on this good earth, I have come to the conclusion that if a potato comes out of the oven, I expect it to taste, look and feel like a roast potato (unless it is a potato croquette - that is a different thing altogether). When my younger daughter and I went shopping to Tesco for some BBQ food at the weekend we decided to get a few bits that could be popped in the oven while the burgers were cooking. One item I went for was a bag of Jumbo Potato Wedges from the Tesco Finest range, they looked delicious on the packet and were reduced to £1 for the 1kg bag which made them cheaper than buying the potatoes and ingredients to cook our own wedges. The usual price is £1.48, which I still believe is reasonable for a bag of wedges this size.
