Advantages: tasty, refreshing
Disadvantages: price
I recently went into the local Tesco at about 9pm on the hunt for some reduced price goodies and managed to get my hands on a couple of bottles of their Tesco Finest* Freshly Squeezed Orange and Strawberry Crush.Tesco finest range are high quality products similar to those you would find in a restaurant, and are a huge step up from their own brand range. The blurb on the bottle says "A delicious crush made from the juice of speciallly selected oranges and strawberry puree". The juice contains 38% orange juice sourced from 16 countries and 21% strawberry puree,as well as water, sugar and citric acid. The texture is thick and pulpy,so if you like smooth juices this isn't for you.The drink is a lovely vibrant colour and looks great in a glass with ice. The bottle states that each serving contains a portion of fruit so I would imagine it would be a great way to get your kids to have more fruit in their diet.It has a high vitamin C content so it is healthy as well as delicious. The juice is really refreshing and fruity with a juicy tangy flavour of oranges and a subtle strawberry aftertaste.Just drinking this juice brings images of hot summer days and Spanish sunshine to mind. Its quite an unusual flavour and definetly something I'd buy again. I would recommend this as a summery drink suitable for kids and adults. The bottle is a compact shape meaning it will fit into any fridge easily. It also has a screw on lid,so its easier to get into than cartons. Now the downside.Remember I said I bought the juice reduced price?Well it cost me ten pence for 1litre bottle, full price it is £2.39.Probably ok for a treat but not something I'd be buying on an everyday basis. Overall I'd recommend the juice but if your on a low budget then there is probably better value things out there!

ADBoyce - 12/06/02 Tesco Finest Range is great - some unusual products that are high quality and very tasty. It goes without saying though that (most times) you get what you pay for! |
